Gem v1.051: Great Works, Civup v33

  • Added the “Great Work” mission to Artists. This gives culture to a city like Great Engineers give production.

  • Increased the threshold cost of the cheapest citystate bribe.

  1. I’m guessing you’re gonna redo the Pantheons and Beliefs when you’ve gotten everything working properly, right? Have any thoughts about it so far – Like, are you planning on making a complete “overhaul” or just tweak some things? Personally, I like it as it is, but feel that they need some tweaking to fit with GEM’s culture-numbers etc…

    • I haven’t given it much thought yet. Most bonuses from pantheons and beliefs seem low enough that it probably does not matter.

Do you upload your mod updates to the Workshop immediately after working on them? My MODs rarely show the ‘Update’ button. I am still stuck on CivUP v26.

Is there any way to manually check for MOD updates from within CivV?

    • Yes, I typically upload mods to both the website and workshop simultaneously. However, I’ve noticed several bugs with the workshop and I would not be surprised if it takes a while to show the “update” message.

You can force it to check for new versions by deleting the Civ cache folder.

I foolishly (unknowingly) tried deleting the cache folder when I was alt-tabbed out of the game. It warned me because some file was in use, so I quit the game and deleted the cache folder. After that, I tried getting in, and it sends me to the desktop within 5 seconds of the loading screen appearing (I have set to skip intro movie).

Things I have tried to no avail:
    1. ‘Verify Integrity of game cache’ (multiple times)
    2. Deleting and (re)installing the game from within the Library after removing the entire CivV folder from ‘My Games’.

    Any pointers? :S

    • I don’t know; I’ve never encountered that situation.
